Become an Approved Claude SMB Trainer

Bring Claude workshops to your small business community

New York, NY — venue details shared upon approval

Small and medium-sized businesses already turn to your organization for guidance. Now you can provide them with AI fluency and hands-on learning. The Claude SMB Trainer Program trains and equips community and AI partner organizations to deliver the proven Claude SMB Workshop format — independently, to your own member base, at no cost.

Join the first cohort at our in-person training in New York on Thursday, September 10, 2026.

About the program

This spring, Anthropic took the Claude SMB Workshop on the road — a half-day, hands-on AI fluency session built for small and medium-sized business owners — to 10 different cities across the U.S. Attendees rated it 9.1/10 (+70 NPS), and every stop oversubscribed by 3-5x.

The demand is bigger than any roadshow. Your communities are asking for this training. Help us bring it to them. As an Approved Claude SMB Trainer, your organization gets the complete workshop-in-a-box — everything you need to run the same session for your members, on your own schedule, with Anthropic keeping the materials current.

The workshop format is educational: no pitch and free for your members, plus one month of free Claude Max for every attendee. It's built to teach and aligns with the economic-mobility missions of the organizations we partner with.

Why your members need this

Small businesses are the backbone of the U.S. economy, and most of them haven't put AI to work yet.

  • 44% of U.S. GDP comes from small and medium-sized businesses
  • 46% of private-sector employment is at small and medium-sized businesses
  • <30% of U.S. SMBs are using AI in their operations today

Who should apply

We're looking for organizations that small businesses already trust:

  • Chambers of Commerce
  • SBDCs and mentor networks
  • Regional AI hubs
  • Community foundations
  • Community colleges
  • Economic development organizations
  • SMB-focused partners

Nominate 1-2 facilitators from your team to attend the in-person training by completing the form on this page. Some technical background and AI experience is helpful, but if you can run a great member event, we can teach you the rest.

How it works: the path to approval

  • Train with us in person. Attend the half-day training session in New York City on September 10, 2026, led by the Anthropic team. You'll experience the workshop as your members will, then learn how to deliver it.

  • Complete the online course and pass the assessment. A short self-paced course and assessment covering the workshop material and facilitation. Passing the assessment is required for approval.

  • Get approved and go. If approved, you'll receive full access to the self-serve workshop toolkit, and run sessions on your own schedule.

FAQ

How much does this cost?
Nothing. The training, the toolkit, and the workshop materials are free. The workshops you run are free for your members too, and every attendee gets one month of Claude Max included. (Travel costs to New York City not included.)

Do our facilitators need a technical background?
No, but it's helpful. The workshop is designed for beginners, and the facilitator training and guide cover most things your team needs.

Can we send more than one person to the training?
Yes, we encourage organizations to apply for more than one facilitator. Please note that space is limited, and approvals are non-transferrable.

What if we can't make either training date?
The September sessions in
San Francisco and New York are the first cohorts. Apply anyway and tell us — we'll keep you informed as future training opportunities are scheduled.

What happens after we're approved?
You'll get access with the full workshop toolkit, so you can start scheduling workshops for your members on your own timeline. Anthropic keeps the materials current. Approved trainers will also become eligible to test for an Authorized Training Partner badge upon launch later this year.

Where exactly is the training?
In New York City. We'll share venue details and logistics with approved applicants.
